Be ready to have fun and relax. Any skill level welcome as this class doesn’t follow any of the rules. It is your original masterpiece.
Supply list
Bring any collage pattern and the supplies on the back of the pattern (Gruber’s has several patterns in different sizes to choose from https://www.grubersquiltshop.com/shop/Patterns/Collage-Patterns.htm ). We will concentrate on the design and the techniques. You will not need to bring your sewing machine to class, but we will learn how to finish masterpieces.
Steam a Seam or Heat n Bond will work –bring one more yard than your pattern requires.
If you cannot find pattern ease, bring white or light-colored piece of cotton fabric 2-3 inches bigger than the finished project you chose to make. Gruber's will give us 10% off notions that we talk about in class.
The collage quilt is a great way to use up scraps of fabrics of wild prints, tones on tones, batiks, and large scale prints like Kaffe Fassette and Tula Pink fabric. Those who wish can trade scraps with other class members to make a more interesting collage.
I have some extra scraps to share so we get a wide variety of shades.
We will need a background piece of fabric for our design.
Ivory, cream, white, navy, or black could be options. Usually, we see collages done on lighter backgrounds.
