Happy New Year!

Before we get into 2021 let's finish this year with something fun! On Monday, December 28th, 2020, Sue had a special guest, Heather Mulder Peterson of Anka's Treasures, showing us the wonderful projects from her latest book: Trendy Table 3 - Fifteen designs for table runners and toppers! She was live with Sue on Facebook at 7pm Central Time (and nowon YouTube on our new channel, Gruber's Quilt Show). These are gorgeous projects and we have plenty of books for you. We're going to do a sew along throughout the year with Heather's fabulous runners! The first project is Heart to Heart - it's for Valentine's Day without being only for Valentine's Day.

January is a great time to learn a new quilting skill! We have the space to do classes in-person with everybody at least 6 feet apart or more and everyone is required to wear a mask covering mouth and nose.

We still have some seats in our One Block Wonder class on January 9th and continued on January 16th. Get 7 panels to make One Amazing Quilt! (Photo left.)
Beginning Quilting January 16th Wall hanging with an image of a rooster made of collaged fabric.- Learn Quilt Patchwork Piecing.  You'll learn accurate four-patch and half-square triangle techniques using Alex Anderson's "Make Your First Quilt" as your starting place.

On January 23rd, Melanie is back teaching a Collage Quilt class! Bring your favorite Laura Heine or similar pattern to learn how to make incredible wallhanging works of art! (Photo right.)

January 30th is for Beginning Foundation Paper Piecing - a shorter 3 hour class to get you started on a new quilting skill.

Speaking of paper piecing, the recent snowstorm here in Minnesota makes us think about sewing from our stashes (scrappy quilt anyone?) and we just got these pineapple block piecing papers in we're excited about. With no sashing and just your scraps, one pack will make a 36" by 42" quilt or get 2 packs to make it 54" by 54". If you've been stashing for a long time, you may have enough fabrics to put a good sashing in between all the blocks and make it larger, couldn't you just? nom nom nom - pineapples...

You might want to start the New Year with some great new tools too. We have a dozen Gruber's Tool Kits available now. Each bundle contains a Limited Edition Quilter Select 9" x 12" cutting mat, Alex Anderson's 4-in-1 Essential Sewing Tool, Stork Scissor 3.5", a Needle Threader, 2020-2021 calendar, Colorful Fabric Clips (12 ct), G-easy ruler stickers, Clover flower pins (20 ct), Thread Cutter Caddy, Aurifil White Thread, and our very own Grubers Ruler 2.5" X 6.5". It's a $100 value for $75!

Saturday, January 2nd...

and only January 2nd, we're doing our Free Yard a Month Gift Certificate again - while supplies last!  Purchase a $300 Gift Certificate and get 1 Free Yard of fabric each month of 2021 (up to a $12 value). It's in store only on Saturday from 9AM to 4PM. After 4pm, you may call us at 320-259-4360 and order a Gift Certificate if there are any left. And when you want your free yard, you'll need to pick it up in store but you can always look at items on our website to do some pre-shopping so you know what you want when you get here!

Last but not least, for the week of January 11th - 16th we'll have an Extra 20% off of our Bargain Department, both In-Store and Online! To keep six foot distancing In Store, we'll have some of the discount items in their fabric sections instead of the Bargain Room, so be sure to look around the entire store.

So, Happy New Year!! There are so many wonderful things to celebrate!
