Gruber’s 3rd ANNUAL Garage Sale!

July 27th and 28th
This can’t be any easier. Start getting your sewing room organized; pull together your unwanted quilting and yarn related items. Turn all those items into store gift certificates for the stuff you sell! Pay a participation fee of $15 for 50 price tickets. Numbers are available today so you can start labeling. Gruber’s will run the garage sale, so you don’t have to. Specific drop-off and pick-up dates will be communicated with your participation fee.

Beginning Quilting – Weekend Retreat

Friday – Sunday, October 4th through 6th

Schedule a weekend for yourself – so you can focus on learning (or practicing) basic rotary cutting skills, sampler block construction (various techniques), proper border and binding attachment. Everyone will be making the same Sampler Quilt but you
can work at your own pace. Supply list (precutting instructions) provided upon registration. Retreaters interested will be notified when the sample is available. Pattern provided with Retreat. Class will be held at Gruber’s Retreat Center. Come as early as Friday 9AM and stay through Sunday 3PM.

The Retreat INCLUDES:

• Class Instruction (starting Noon on Friday, all day Saturday and Sunday until 1PM)
• Retreat Center Stay (Friday 9AM thru Sunday 3PM)
• Continental Breakfast both Saturday and Sunday
• Dinner both Friday and Saturday nights

Concentrating on Colour - A knitting workshop with Brandon Mably
This workshop will be for knitters who are interested in sharpening their color observation in design.
Saturday, October 12th from 9AM-3PM
Cost: $80 +materials

Concentrate on Colour - Lecture with Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably
Take a colorful journey with Kaffe Fassett. A one-man revolution, Kaffe changed the world of quilting and knitting with his explosive use of color. In this slide lecture, Kaffe shares stories of a remarkable life illustrated with slides of his work and travels. Lecture will be followed by a book signing.

NOTE: Gruber’s has reserved a group of rooms at Quality Inn 320-251-1500 for those who need to travel a distance and want to stay overnight in St. Cloud. For the night of Oct 12th the rate is $77 +tax for a Standard Room with two (2) queen size beds.

Cost: $125 +book titled Simple Shapes, Spectacular Quilts and materials

One-Block Wonders

Class taught by distinguished guest instructor  Maxine Rosenthal

Create an absolutely fabulous quilts using just one fabric! Learn Maxine’s method, to create hexagonal kaleidoscope-like blocks that fit together to make a completely unique quilt. Unlike other hexagonal block patterns, there are no Y-seams using this method, just sew in
straight lines! The final quilt will be about the size of a small throw – unless you decide to add more to it! This class is for the confident
beginner and beyond.
