Absolute Beginning Sewing Class
Instructor: Peggy Aschenbrenner
Cost: $15.00
If you haven’t ever used a sewing machine or haven’t used a sewing machine since high school, but want to start quilting or sewing garments, this class is for you.  Learn the basics of general machine operation, sewing accurate seam allowances, as well as ergonomics and cleaning tips.  You will be sewing on scrap fabrics, but there will not be a project.  We will learn proper pressing techniques. Sign up for Beginning Sewing Pillowcase or Apron class to put your newly acquired skills to practice.  Pick up a supply list when you register for this class. 
You must bring a sewing machine
with the operator’s manual.

Beginner I Quilting
Instructor: Beth Probasco
Cost: $15.00

Level: Beginner with some sewing experience

This class provides an introduction to basic quilt making supplies, terminology, fabric selection, proper rotary cutting, and scant quarter-inch seam allowance. If you have some sewing but no quilting experience or you have not made a quilt for many years, or even if you have been piecing quilt tops, you will want to take this class.

Beginner II Quilting

Level: Beginner                     Prerequisite: Beginner I 

This class is designed for those who want to learn to piece a quilt top of their own or want to assure they are using current and accurate quilt making techniques. Rotary cutting, sewing, and basic quilt piecing techniques will be used to complete a Rail Fence wall quilt or baby quilt.

Beginning Machine Quilting

Learn how to complete your quilting projects by quilting them yourself. Chris will walk you through the basics from stitch in the ditch to free hand feathers. No experience necessary!

Coneflower Class
Instructor: Nancy Kazlauckas

Cost: $40.00

You will learn how to paint with paintstiks!  We will be using the Coneflower pattern in class, learning how to paint the “drop shadow” boxes and using only one brush we will paint the large coneflower.  This is a whole cloth pattern, all the work you see is done with paint.  There is NO piecing for this quilt.

Sewing Camp for Young Adults

Young Adults ages 12 and older, this class will show you the basics for getting started to sew.  You will learn the fabric types and their purposes along with how to operate a sewing machine.  In this class we will learn how to thread, wind bobbins, zig zag, and sew accurate seams.  You will be sewing on scrap fabrics, but there will not be a project. Sign up for the Sept. 12th Sewing Camp to learn how to make decorative pillow cases.   You must bring a sewing machine with the operator’s manual.

Einstein Coat
Instructor: Barb Pladson
Cost: $ Free with the purchase of Yarn for project otherwise $5.00 per session

Level of Difficulty:     Easy but lots of knitting.
Make your fall knitting project an Einstein Coat.  This coat is knit entirely in garter stitch using bulky weight yarn.  Our Peruvia Quick yarn will tempt you; it’s simply gorgeous.  Other bulky yarns are also available.  Work a gauge swatch in garter stitch before the first class on size 10 needles.  A 4-inch swatch should have a 13 stitch count.
